Cried when I realized I was leaving my job.
Celebrated friends having babies!
Was saddened by a coworker’s death.
Exercised and enjoyed it.
Pneumonia wrecked me.
Conquered some serious fears on the scariest hike of my life.
Dropped my phone off a cliff on that same hike.
Showed people amazing stars on some amazingly clear nights.
Watched the sky burn red from California wildfires many evenings.
Took one of the richest families in the US on a stargazing tour.
They didn’t even tip.
Taught astrophotography classes.
Didn’t always get great pictures because of the weather.
Road tripped to a new National Park.
Hot Springs National Park isn’t even cool.
Spent more time working in the Tetons.
Left that in search of something more.
My sister got engaged.
I’m still not engaged (lol).
Learned how to cook some new food.
Burned lots of food.
Applied for some interesting jobs.
Still waiting on interesting jobs to get back with me.
Took some amazing videos on my new phone.
Spent way too much time on my new phone.
Got lucky on some stocks.
Got unlucky on some stocks.
Read 13 books.
Still hate podcasts.
Debated getting a puppy.
Made excuses.
Debated riding my bike across the country.
Made more excuses.
Wore a mask.
Forgot to wear a mask.
Laughed with friends.
Cried with friends.
Am thankful for zoom.
Miss real community.
Tried my best.
Gave up a time or two.
Took chances.
Played it safe.
Had good days.
Had bad days.
Lived.
I ended last year’s summary by saying I was looking forward to 2020, not because it’d be easier, but because I knew it'd be okay. I was right. This year was a different kind of hard with different kinds of joy. I’m thankful for the people who have continued to make their way into my life and for those who have allowed me to be a part of their story. See ya in 2021.
Romans 8: 37-39
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
